  The traditional & classic Opinel carbon steel pocket knife. This famous knife is rich in history & has been in use for over 100 years by many alike! The carbon steel blade is very sharp & quite easy to sharpen. It's razor sharpness will cut through materials with ease, & is great for a number of uses! The blade locks in place with a simple turn of the stainless collar; it also locks into the handle for safety as well. The handsome handle is made of genuine Beechwood & is varnished for a most beautiful look. Very versatile, effective, & beautiful, this classic Opinel knife is one you'll most certainly treasure!      High carbon steel is tougher & harder than stainless steels, making it ideal & desirable for applications where durability is required & where frequent regrinding is needed. Carbon steels are more durable & have razor-sharp edges, & is easy to re-sharpen as well when the need arises.

     Since carbon steel has superior cutting qualities due to it's hardness & toughness, it's resistance to corrosion caused by moisture is low as a result. Therefore, it is important to try and keep your carbon steel blades away from moist or damp environments as much as possible. It is also a good idea to occasionally wipe the blade with a light oil, such as mineral oil from time to time. It is also a good idea to wipe the blade dry after each use.
